Peter said to them, "I begin to see how true it is that God shows no partiality---rather that any person ... who fears God and does what is right is acceptable to God."

Acts 10:34-35

Scripture says, "No one who believes in God will be put to shame." Here there is no difference between Jew and Greek; all have the same Creator, rich in mercy to those who call: "Everyone who calls on the name of the Most High will be saved."

Rom. 10:11-13

Each one of you is a child of God because of your faith in Christ Jesus. All of you who have been baptized into Christ have clothed yourselves with Christ. In Christ there is no Jew or Greek, slave or citizen, male or female. All are one in Christ Jesus.

Gal. 3:26-28

my current reads

Technically, I've already read this book. But I'm still digesting it. A must read. Analyzing our relationships with each other in terms of that with God, and vice versa. Sexuality as intimacy.

So far, a fascinating and challenging discussion about the role of politics in religion, and that of religion in politics. Specifically, Lilla looks at contemporary secularism as it is: a fragile historical anomaly.

Instead of tritely looking to the "WWJD" phenomena, and following as any given church denomination infers, this book looks to exactly what Jesus said about certain issues, and draws a far more nuanced, certainly less dogmatic conclusion about what we know about what Jesus would do in today's complicated world.
